The world we believe to be solid is merely a thin membrane shaped by social
norms and reason. Beneath that surface, untamed wildness, a fascination with
oblivion, and selves fractured by the gaze of others are entangled like vast
roots. This exhibition, <Surrealism: Anatomy of Instinct, erases the control of
reason on the canvas and summons the 'Instinct' hidden deep within the
human interior into distinct surreal forms.
The three participating artists: Monsters Association, The Bathory, and
Glertae; dismantle the boundary between reality and fantasy through the
distinct languages of mythic chaos, Gothic romance, and psychological
distortion. To them, Surrealism is not merely a technique, but a tool to dissect
the most honest, naked truth of human existence.
