AOF SMITH
Aof Smith is a Bangkok-based contemporary artist at the forefront of Thailand's emerging art scene. Influenced by manga, science fiction, and other art forms, he creates distinctive characters he calls "Furries”—fantastical figures rendered in intricate detail, often marked by unsettling elements such as lit fuses and missiles. These features point to Smith's satirical commentary on modern society.
Born and raised in Bangkok—a city known for blending ancient traditions with modern life—Smith was exposed to art early on, thanks to his father, who worked as an art teacher. He later completed both a bachelor's degree and an MFA at King Mongkut's University of Technology.
Environmental consciousness is a key driver of his creativity. In a world increasingly shaped by consumerism and waste, Smith ponders the long-term legacy humanity will leave for future generations. Looking ahead, his ambition is simple yet far-reaching: to continue producing art rooted in his vision, forging deeper connections with audiences on a global scale.
